Branchburg, NJ Branchburg, NJ Full-time Full-time $160,000 - $180,000 a year $160,000 - $180,000 a year 19 hours ago 19 hours ago 19 hours ago The Distribution and Logistic Director (DLD) is responsible for managing the end-to-end operations within the Marcolin USA supply chain and for designing processes and ensure the full accomplishment of the business needs.
In this role, the DLD will be highly involved with a variety of a stakeholders including international suppliers and the headquarters related functions.
With a strategic and logistics work planning, the Distribution and Logistics Director must be able to ensure structures and processes in place that monitor the flow of good and materials.
At the same time, this role involves setting supply chain KPI's for productivity, distribution performances, order accuracy (among other metrics), analyzing data collected and implementing process improvements.
In addition, the DLD is responsible for preparing logistics operations for expected challenges (such as spikes in seasonal demand), and for building a resilient supply chain that is strong and stable enough to withstand unforeseen challenges.
Essential duties and Responsibilities Monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods (eyewear, cases, POPs) Conceive the logistics strategy with a quality / service / cost optimization constant concern Participate in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution network Comprehends and analyze costs, stocks and lead-time reduction projects as well as the customer service improvement.
Assure the follow-up of supply activities (national and import), of warehousing and distribution, of upstream and downstream transports.
Follow up the profitability and logistic costs dashboard (set of KPIs) and establish required action plans for the logistic objective's achievement.
Analyze data to monitor performance and logistics improvements Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Assure an effective project planning and management.
Evaluate the effectiveness of and recommend alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product; manage to ensure warehouse layout is optimally aligned for maximum efficiency as seasonality and inventory needs require.
Managing all aspects of the DC's financial, operational, people and processes and service related objectives to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains to reduce overall cost-to-serve; Participates in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution network.
Interact with business partners to drive results and deliver solutions including Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, Human Resources.
Coach, train, and develop associates informally and through formal training programs, providing both informal (e.
g.
on-floor coaching) and formal (e.
g.
written evaluation) job performance-based feedback.
Coordinate with the team to manage logistics operation systems from development through operation to create more efficiencies, meet/improve productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
Collaborate with Planning, Sales & Finance to ensure company's operational priorities are aligned to strategic company financial resources and goals Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, partners and carriers, review contracts and negotiate terms Assure an effective Duty draw back process Work Experience/ Background / Skills 10+years relevant experience in senior logistics warehouse leadership and distribution with a successful track record of managing these operations Strong knowledge of SAP, EDI, Excel, shipping optimization, vendor compliance and routing guide standards, Import/Export, Customs FDA regulatory compliance and overall distribution and supply chain trends.
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
Measurable experience with managing cost, budget and warehouse management systems and processes.
Ability to successfully problem solve in a growing, dynamic environment with changing priorities while maintaining discipline on key deliverables.
Cross functional project / program management and improvement experience.
Highly analytical and critical thinker.
Acute attention to detail and highly organized.
Strong track record of managing and guiding direct reports Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus Job Type:
