F/T Research & Prototype Scientist (Somerset, NJ) Design build and test experiments centered on high power fiber devices. Analyze the results of table top experiments and build prototypes which will be sent to external customers. Responsible for creating prototypes of innovative fiber-optic technology inventions, including non-zero dispersion fiber, submarine optical fiber, polarization maintaining fiber, fiber amplifiers/lasers, and fiber gratings. Troubleshooting optical issues and using working knowledge of electrical systems and thermal management in packaged devices. Test and troubleshoot the performance of prototypes, including setting up test equipment and test methods, as well as generating component and assembly drawings, converting solid models/assemblies into detailed drawings. Demonstrate a capacity for original and independent experimental work and the ability to blend research and business goals. Perform optical cleaving & splicing. Utilize demonstrated experience with Labview, MathLab, Mathematica, PSice, and BeamProp. Must have PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics or a related field. Must have 2 years experience in positions performing fiber optics research and analysis. Experience must have included: use of laser device physics; nonlinear fiber optics; performing cleaving and splicing of optical fibers; Labview, MatLab, BeamProp, PSice and Mathematica. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
