Critical Co-worker/Vocational Direct Support Professional Position
Critical Co-worker/Vocational Direct Support Professional - Somerset Everas Community Services, Inc. is looking for professional, compassionate people who are enthusiastic about making a positive difference in the lives of the people we support and throughout our organization. Job Description Critical Co-workers support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as complex medical and behavioral support needs in vocational setting. As a Critical Co-worker you will empower individuals to reach his or her vocational goals and cultivate purpose by:
Assisting individuals to complete contract work; Providing support in volunteer activities; Coach individuals in job skills and skill development. This is hands-on work that requires assistance with personal hygiene, medication administration, and support in the community. Employees must also be comfortable driving agency vehicles (sedans, mini vans, or 16 passenger van) to transport individuals. Must be comfortable taking individuals into the community to participate in vocational and/or volunteer opportunities. Everas provides specialized, paid training for all employees in the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) Certifications and agency specific training to ensure that each team member has the tools needed to perform responsibilities. Employees must be able to complete training requirements within the specified time frames. All training are held at our main office in Somerset. Pay rate is $12.00 per hour. This position is full time. This is an entry-level position. Insurance benefits and paid time off are available to full-time staff. Shifts available:
Monday-Friday:
8am-4pm EOE/M/F/D/V
Position Requirements Valid NJ Driver's License in good standing; High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent; Strong problem-solving skills and initiative; Positive attitude, flexible and patient; Passionate about working with adults with special needs.
